I have been designing and making (by hand) greeting cards since 1990. In 2001, when my daughter entered rehab, I learned a great deal about the disease of addiction and everyone involved in the Recovery process. Both the addict and their family members NEED to feel support and love as they struggle through the complicated process of healing. At the time of my experience, there were no “Recovery Specific” messages available, so I have decided to create and publish them myself. I use slogans and words that are familiar to everyone in Recovery. Addiction is a difficult subject to address, and until our society becomes more educated about this terrible brain disease, it will remain so. My Recovery Cards provide a way to show support without the need of long letters or uncomfortable conversations. It is my hope that these Recovery Cards will have a positive impact on the lives of people who are working hard on their sobriety, and will represent HOPE for family members who are feeling hopeless and helpless.”
